About
Based in Stevens Point, WI, Jessie Crandall is a performing jazz bassist who has played with Benny Benack III, Mar Vilaseca, John Daniel, and many other wonderful musicians.
Her roots, however, were in the piano. She began taking lessons at age 7 and continued to study piano after she started learning bass guitar at 12. Jessie even joined the classical piano studio at UW-Stevens Point while getting her degree in Jazz Studies for the bass. After college, she began to teach piano and found great joy in doing so. Now, she is pursuing an MME in Piano Studio Pedagogy from UWSP to further her teaching abilities while continuing to perform on the bass at night.
When you study piano with Jessie, you are receiving instruction from an adept musician who performs with others on a regular basis. She makes a point to acknowledge all facets of music, including but not limited to technical ability, basic music theory knowledge, and good performance practices.
Jessie teaches all ages at all skill levels. Bass lessons are also available!
